TV program: What to watch the week of September 26, 2021

This weekly feature is in addition to TVLine’s daily lists of what to watch and the monthly guide to what is streaming.

With nearly 500 scripted shows now airing on broadcast, cable and streamingit’s easy to forget that a favorite comedy is back or that the new “glamor drama” you’ve been waiting for is about to debut. So consider this as our reminder to configure your DVR, order a Season Pass, insert a new Memorex into the VCR… but you’re the one who rolls.

This week you’ll find a whopping 23 returning series (including ABC medical dramas Grey’s Anatomy and The good doctor; CBS procedures SWAT, blue bloods and Magnum PI; and fox ‘toons The Simpsons, Bob’s burgers and family guy) and 10 first series (including the drama 50 Cent by Starz BMF, the epic of the abyss of NBC La Bréa, and Apple TV + news Problem with Jon Stewart).

Also on the program, seven finals (including Big Brother, The circle and Mr. Corman) and a myriad of movies and specials (Soprano prequel movie The Many Saints of Newark and the 74th annual Tony Awards, now split between Paramount + and CBS).
