Netflix reveals new details about Sandra Oh’s upcoming college comedy series Game of thrones creators David Benioff and DB Weiss.
Titled The chair, the six-part satire – created and co-written by Benioff’s real-life wife, actress Amanda Peet – finds the Kill Eve star playing the first woman and woman of color to head the English department at (fictitious) Pembroke University. It is scheduled to premiere on August 27.

While the series will be Peet’s first as a writer and showrunner, it has two plays to her name – The Municipalities of Pensacola, produced by the Manhattan Theater Club in 2013, and Our own Carlin McCullough, produced at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles in 2018.
Jay Duplass (Transparent) co-stars in the half hour series. Peet and Duplass have previously worked together on HBO Unit, which ran for two seasons from 2015 to 2016. The cast also includes Holland Taylor, Bob Balaban, Nana Mensah, David Morse and Everly Carganilla.
Oh, meanwhile, is about to begin production of the fourth and final season of Kill Eve. Also, ICYMI, she will never return to Grey’s Anatomy.
