Koch Media is best known in the gaming space for its Deep Silver division, but now it has another video game division to add to that. Prime Matter is its newest division, marking its announcement with a bang by revealing 12 unannounced games. Most are new IPs from relatively unknown studios like Payday 3 and the next Pain killer might be the only one that people recognize.
Koch said he wanted to launch Prime Matter to “expand its portfolio of labels to meet the ever increasing demands and opportunities of an increasingly diverse audience.” Prime Matter will also offer streams like Nintendo Directs as well as developer interviews.
Starbreeze’s popular co-op shooter returns with Payday 3. This appeared to be in line with the other two entries, but Starbreeze will release more details later.
The next painkiller game
We don’t know much about the rest Pain killer game, but the expected shooter sequel is coming to Prime Matter in collaboration with Saber Interactive
Developer and publisher Smilegate is working with Blackbird Interactive to make Crossfire: Legion, an RTS game. It is manufacturers of Home world, A company of heroes, and Dawn of war and promises futuristic “fast-action” and “fully customizable armies”. The game is slated for release on PC in 2022.
Serbian studio Mad Head Games creates new IP Scars above. It stars Kate Ward as she is trapped on a hostile alien planet and appeared to be a mix of the newer ones tomb Raider trilogy, Return, and Remainder: Ashes. The developers will be showing more of the third-person shooter on June 11 during a livestream.
Final form of code name (working title)
Final form doesn’t even have an exit window, but developer Reikon Games has revealed that it is a sci-fi first-person shooter that plays solo or co-op with up to three players. Players can customize their main character, who is a “humanoid avatar of a sentient spaceship”, as they participate in an “increasing dance of movement and combat”. He seems to one of the fastest shooters like Fall of the Titans 2 or Loss.
Dolmen comes from Massive Work Studio in Brazil and is akin to a Soulslike with elements of HP Lovecraft and HR Giger with some sci-fi elements. Players can use normal melee attacks as well as guns, which can be aimed manually like a traditional third-person over-the-shoulder shooter or by locking like a typical Soulslike. This RPG will arrive on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and PC sometime in 2022.
Gungrave GORE is still very early days – it currently has a 2022 release date – but developer IGGYMOB described it as “the anime comes to life.” The team want it to blend eastern and western design as players shoot through hordes of enemies in an overdone, anime-like fashion. It is a third person shooter game for PC and consoles.
The last Oricru
GoldKnights does The last Oricru, another Soulslike where old fantasy mixes with science fiction. The emphasis is on player choice, as missions can play out in different ways. And unlike some Soulslikes, The last Oriscru is playable in co-op. It’s coming to PS5, Xbox Series X / S, and PC in 2022.
Echoes Of The End (working title)
Myrkur Games is the team behind Echoes of the End. Players control Ryn and use her abilities to “manipulate and destroy matter”. Echoes of the End is also a “storytelling third-person action-adventure set in a unique fantasy world.” The trailer will debut on June 11, and the team will reveal more about this ambitious title.
The song (working title)
Canadian studio Brass Token is developing singing, which is a horror game reminiscent of silent Hill. It takes players to a secluded area with a new cult where players grapple with the cult as well as supernatural elements. There is also a combat system, which also seemed inspired by silent Hill. The horror title is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and PC in 2022.
Shut in maybe for those who love the old Fall games because it’s a classic isometric RPG coming to PC in September 2021 from Dark Crystal Games. There will be five disciplines as well as the typical list of RPG features like quests, stats, and dialogue systems. The game is slated for release in Q2 2022 on consoles and PC on Unreal Engine 4. Console ports are not to be ruled out, but the team wanted to focus on one release first.
Kings Bounty 2
Kings Bounty 2 has already been announced on consoles and PC for August 24, but it’s now under the Prime Matter banner.
Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord
Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord already released in Early Access, but now it is physically exiting the program and on PCs and consoles as well. There is no fixed date on this however.
The kingdom comes from deliverance
This game has already been released, but it’s coming to Switch now.
Outwards also already released, but now it hits the PS5 and Xbox Series X / S.
