Chi season 4 trailer features a city at war
The trailer for Chi Season 4 describes the aftermath of an act of police brutality. The main characters of the series Jake, Papa and Kevin face the reality of being young and black in America. Together, as they grow up, they rely on a deeply broken system and unite with their community for justice. Designer and executive producer Lena Waithe’s hit Showtime show (Around twenty) and produced by Common (Selma) returns for a new season with a premiere on May 23 at 9 / 8c. Chi stars Jacob Latimore, Alex Hibbert, Yolonda Ross, Shamon Brown Jr., Michael V. Epps and Birgundi Baker. The series focuses on a group of residents on the south side of Chicago who become coincidentally bound but bound by the need for connection and redemption. The upcoming season’s cast includes Jacob Latimore (Like a boss), Alex Hibbert (Moonlight), Yolonda Ross (Treme), Shamon Brown Jr., Michael V. Epps and Birgundi Baker. Luke James and Curtiss Cook were added to the series regulars in season four. Kandi Burruss and La La Anthony are set to return as guest stars, alongside Tabitha Brown (Princess of the row) and Jason Weaver, originally from Chicago (Smart guy).

Chi is currently in production for 10 episodes in Chicago. In addition to Waithe and Common for season 4, Aaron Kaplan (A million little things), Rick Famuyiwa (Drug), Derek Dudley and Shelby Stone of Freedom Road Productions, Rishi Rajani, president of Hillman Grad Productions and showrunner Justin Hillian. The Chi is produced by 20th Television and produced in its entirety in the city of Chicago, its namesake.
